About Us

The Banbury Evergreens Club was founded in 1982 and evolved from sports sessions offered on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at the Spiceball Leisure Centre, for those in the 50+ age group.

However, you don’t have to play sport to be an Evergreen; of our 170+ members, most take part in the sports on offer, the rest of us simply enjoy the social activities and the friendship offered by the club. All of us have one thing in common; we take an active and positive approach to life.

The Banbury Evergreens club welcomes new sports and social members. If you’re shy, don’t let that stop you – a committee member will be happy to show you around and introduce you to other members.

Annual membership currently costs £5. See below for some more of our activities.

Holidays and Outings

Apart from sports and social activities we enjoy short breaks in spring and early autumn. Recent destinations have included Skegness, Bideford, the Isle of Wight, Tenby and Weymouth, and later this year we are going to Newquay.

We also organise a summer outing each year as well as other occasional events such as theatre trips, and visits to other places of interest. See the Holidays and Trips page for this year’s destinations

Drop in at Spiceball
